When I train new Business Designers, I often cite the talk that inspired my journey, "$X" by Kwame Nyanning (2016–17). Which is a good non-bullshit way of talking about what we do.

  1. "Value at Stake" = Dollar Experience ($X) = Customer Experience (CX) x Transactional Volume = Union(Desirability, Viability, Feasibility).
  2. Shared Consensus over "Pattern Languages" syncs service and business priorities.
  3. The ability to take on new risks and identify new kinds of opportunity.
  4. Forcing the Ecosystem (or, building the market/category).
